Definition
Annihilation is a 2014 Science fiction Horror film written and directed by Alex Garland, based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. The story follows three scientists who venture into a mysterious area known as Area X, where the laws of nature do not apply.
Plot
The film opens with Weasel (Jennifer Jason Leigh), an Anthropologist, who is invited to join an Expedition led by her colleague, Jesse (Timothy Hutton). They are accompanied by two others: Dr. Ventress (Lena Headey) and Dr. Fontaine (Olivia Williams). The team has been sent to Area X, a region that does not follow the laws of nature in any way.
As they enter Area X, they begin to experience strange phenomena, including Unexplained changes in temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors. They soon discover that the area is teeming with strange and deadly creatures that seem to be adapting to their presence.
